Rachael Maude is a Tasmanian artist working with film photography and traditional darkroom practices. Her work explores the far-flung and unseen, created in makeshift darkrooms from the outback desert to a forested mountaintop — and now aboard a wooden sailing boat, where she currently lives.

Trained at Sydney College of the Arts and the Australian Centre for Photography, Rachael has exhibited at M16 (Canberra), the Centre for Contemporary Photography (Melbourne), and was a state finalist in the 2024 Tasmanian Women’s Art Prize, with her work toured statewide.
